Abu'l Qasim al-Zahrawi's 11th century medical encyclopedia: Kitab al-Tasrif.

The Kitab al-Tasrif (Arabic,كتاب التصريف لمن عجز عن التأليف) (The Method of Medicine) was an influential Arabic medical encyclopedia on medicine and surgery, written near the year 1000 CE by Abu al-Qasim al-Zahrawi (Abulcasis), the "father of modern surgery". The 30-volume work includes anatomical descriptions, classifications of diseases, information on nutrition and surgery, and sections on medicine, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, pharmacology, nutrition, and especially surgery.[1]

In the Western world, the book was known by the Latin title Concessio ei data qui componere haud valet. For at least six centuries, it remained an important medical practice guide for doctors and surgeons in both the Islamic world and medieval Europe.

How to Prevent Infection After Labiaplasty

Choose a qualified cosmetic surgeon for the procedure and attend every checkup. Having a surgeon who runs a spotless facility is the best defense against getting an infection. During the checkups, the surgeon can ensure that the labia is healing properly and no signs of infection are present.
Step2
Expect to have some minor swelling, bruising and pain after the labiaplasty surgery. This should last for only a few days. If you notice the swelling or pain worsens, this could be a sign of infection. Call your doctor immediately.
Step3
Cleanse the area with a mild soap and water at least daily, but wait at least 24 hours after the surgery before applying water to the area. Soaps specifically made for the vaginal region can help prevent infection after the labiaplasty.
Step4
Refrain from sexual activity for at least a month, and possibly 2, to prevent infection. Your cosmetic surgeon will let you know when you can safely resume sex.
Step5
Wear a sanitary napkin for a week after the surgery to collect any blood or drainage. Change the pad often to avoid prolonged contact of the discharge and the labia to prevent infection.
